Mindfulness & Yoga Strategies

Research has shown that mindfulness helps us reduce anxiety and depression. In addition, mindfulness can: help relieve stress, treat heart disease, lower blood pressure, reduce chronic pain, improve sleep, and alleviate gastrointestinal difficulties. By teaching awareness for one’s physical and mental state in the moment, mindfulness allows for more adaptive reactions to difficult situations.

Yoga is also very beneficial for the body. I believe yoga is amazing—even if you only practice for 20 minutes a week, you can experience the benefits of the practice.

Benefits of yoga include:

  • decreased stress and relief of anxiety
  • increased flexibility.
  • increased muscle strength and tone.
  • improved respiration, energy and vitality.
  • maintaining a balanced metabolism.
  • weight reduction.
  • cardio and circulatory health.
  • improved quality of life.
